OUR IMPACT

Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm's ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.

 

YOUR IMPACT

Work as part of a cross-product team within FICC Technology partnering with the firm's FICC franchise to ensure compliance with regulation, best execution and systematic internaliser requirements. Our work includes data capture of quotes and orders across all FICC business units, data modelling and support for shared technology builds of front office applications and workflow streams. Our people interface directly with trading desks to understand business needs, facilitating and developing process workflow, data requirements, and specifications required to support implementation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exposure to aspects of trading in various fixed income products
  • Connectivity with traders, salespeople, strategists, and multiple areas of Operations and Technology in a dynamic environment
  • Visibility to all stages of the software development cycle with a range of technologies (standard and proprietary) including SecDB, the firm's strategic object-oriented risk database and Java
  • Transparency to, analysis of, and problem solving for regulatory, business case, and other dynamic business case

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and core programming concepts
  • Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders, and working as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally
  • Expertise in Java development and Relational Databases
  • Able to apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Interest in fixed income products

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of trading technologies in the front-office of a trading organization
  • Experience in fixed income asset classes
  • Strong programming experience in at least one compiled language (e.g. C++, Java)
  • In-depth knowledge of relational and columnar SQL databases, including database design
