The European Special Situations Group (ESSG) within the Securities Division is looking for an Analyst with a demonstrated interest in fundamental/value investing to join the Asset Investing team within ESSG. ESSG is a multi-product investing and financing group within the Securities Division.

 

 

HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • The role is highly analytical with emphasis on fundamental valuation, financial modelling, analysis of financial accounts, legal documentation and involvement in deal negotiation and dynamics
  • The candidate will be expected to express investment views and to play a role in screening and developing new investment ideas
  • The candidate will be involved in due diligence on live deals, conducting market research, interacting with advisors and management teams, and preparing investment committee materials
  • Focus primarily on distressed loan portfolios, direct real estate investments and asset backed investment opportunities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong academic record with Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Studies or a related discipline required
  • Prior financial services/investment banking industry experience required
  • Experience in corporate finance/M&A required/real estate required
  • Real estate debt experience from an investment perspective is a nice-to-have
  • Strong quantitative/financial modelling/analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of financial markets required
  • Ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest and aptitude for evaluating and recommending investments through personal interest and/or professional experience
  • Knowledge of additional European language(s) is required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills essential
  • Solid work ethic and high levels of motivation required
  • Ability to drive projects and initiatives
  • A self-starter / entrepreneurial
