The role is of a specialist who will drive Risk related projects by working closely with Operations teams and Technology Risk officers to ensure risk mitigation mandates are implemented and appropriate controls are tracked. The Risk Governance team is responsible for driving risk alleviation initiatives across Enterprise Technology Operations teams. Overall Governance to reduce gaps in technology support operations and track certifications. This includes risk reporting, model governance; Risk forecasting, Trending analysis.




The Goldman Sachs SPARC (Strategy, Practices, Risk & Controls) team defines best practices, transformation opportunities, and re-engineering needs within Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO).  This team also assists in developing strategy for tools by working with the engineering/development team(s) to define the requirements.


The team also assists in identifying service impacting trends throughout the environment.  This team performs escalation and follow-up with engineering, application owners, and ETO managers as well as drives onboarding generalist/specialist Application support, prioritization, creates additional efficiencies, and helps to enhance the overall client experience.



  • Provide continuous monitoring Risk mandates and track adherence.
  • Build reports and track trending on periodic basis to meet targets set.
  • Effective stakeholder communication, drafting meeting minutes to track progress and ability to make quick decisions based on data.
  • Organize and provide evidence for Internal Audit and liaise with technology Risk officers to drive key mandates.
  • Produce enterprise wide risk reports against risk appetite for senior management, boards, committees, highlighting risks, issues, control failings and identifying areas for management action. Provide meaningful oversight and challenge to Risk reports to ensure consistency, completeness and clarity of message 
  • Drive Automation programs for ease of report making that can facilitate respective Technology Leads to generate reports on a self-service basis and ensure the necessary actions are implemented into the production environment.




Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of Project management experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Knowledge in scripting is an added advantage
  • A good understanding of regulatory environments and experience in driving risk projects
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of Technology risk and control frameworks and how these map to evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Have a demonstrable track record of delivering process/control improvements within significant programs of work, with nominal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills in order to identify key themes, suggest solutions and deliver on opportunities
  • Excellent partnership and stakeholder management skills, as well as build strong relationships and work collaboratively with teams across the business
  • Ability to operate remotely, in a diverse and multi-cultural environment. International work or consultancy exposure would be a definite plus
  • Confidence to challenge appropriately, escalating as required.
  • Good interpersonal skills - involving liaison across the organization with key personnel, influencing others to deliver to deadlines and guiding them on specific requirements
  • Good report writing, written and oral communication skills (Face to face and via the telephone or videoconference)
  • Ability to manage conflicting objectives
  • Ability to make quick independent decisions based on logical thought processes
