    Our Trade/Transaction reporting team is seeking a professional who is looking to apply your data analytical skills while deepening your understanding of various financial products and regulatory reporting requirements in Japan.


    With the continued changes in the regulatory landscape, you will also have opportunities to see regulators' areas of focus in the financial market, whether specific to Japan or to align globally, and be part of implementing our process and workflow for new regulatory reporting requirements for the firm. 



    Japan Regulatory Operations Trade/Transaction reporting team is responsible for the oversight of non-financial regulatory reporting to the Japanese central banks, exchanges, and Self Regulated Organizations. The team is responsible for the monitoring, preparation, and submission of regulatory reports by maintaining controls to mitigate reporting risks. It also engages in the analysis of the requirements surrounding the firm's non-financial regulatory reporting by working closely with the various Business, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Technology teams to improve and maintain the quality of the firm’s regulatory reporting. 





    This role requires an motivated individual that can liaise with various groups supporting the businesses to design, implement, and manage regulatory reporting across the globe. Responsibilities include:

    • Produce and/or validate for accuracy daily, weekly or monthly regulatory reports;
    • Timely investigation and resolution of exceptions generated during the reporting process/ cycle;
    • Coordinate the remediation of reporting anomalies;
    • Engage in the testing and implementation of rule changes that impact reporting processes;
    • Document functional requirements for technology to describe the required changes to reporting processes as a result of rule changes or other change management initiatives;
    • Recommend infrastructure and reporting improvements;
    • Develop global partnerships across Operations, broader Federation and the business area in order to help implement initiatives;
    • Proactively assist the business, operations, compliance, and IT management in understanding the impact of business initiatives on regulatory reporting;
    • Analyze regulatory inquiries related to trade, transaction or position data;
    • Maintain strong risk management within the daily production process;
    • Maintenance of procedures and other documents relating to the team;
    • Maintain a strong focus on streamlining in efficient processes, drive forward solutions to remediate production issues in order to improve both accuracy and timeliness;
    • Recommend infrastructure improvements; and
    • Develop recommendations for process control improvements.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Understanding of the securities / derivatives business and related products 
    • Experience with regulatory reporting 
    • Experience of process improvements and system upgrades/testing cycles 
    • Preparing scope and user requirements documents 
    • Preparing test scripts 
    • Coordinating user acceptance testing
