    Goldman Sachs Engineers are innovators and problem-solvers, building solutions in risk management, big data, mobile and more. We look for creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced global environment.Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions. FICC Core develops and owns mission critical services that are relied upon by multiple business unit teams across fixed incoming, currencies, commodities and equity derivatives. These businesses require solutions that are always available and can elastically scale with increased demand whilst also catering for continuous need for new functionality without comprising on testing and quality. We are looking for software engineers who are passionate about building rock solid software.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

    • You will learn to manage complexity that comes from dealing with hundreds of different trading venues and products.
    • You will build services that reduce friction enabling the business to rapidly on-board new venues/products.
    • You are passionate about writing clean, elegant and thoroughly tested software.
    • You enjoy reasoning about the trade offs between performance, consistency and availability when building distributed systems.


    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline
    • Experience in programming in Java, Scala, Python and/or Javascript.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with any/all of the following a plus: Kafka, Zookeeper, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Spark
