Summary: GSAM Japan seeks a senior sales professional, whose primary responsibility will be to aggressively seek opportunities to expand the business and raise assets from both existing and prospective public and corporate pension clients.
Lead business development, promoting GSAM products to public and corporate pension funds and driving AUM growth
Manage client relationships in a sophisticated and highly effective way, in person, as appropriate, or through relevant team members
Lead the charge into new markets and feedback client demands for new approaches and products
In partnership with the Head of Pension Sales, lead and manage the team in a way which will motivate, inspire and inform
Bring in-depth knowledge of the market to bear on expanding the success of the GSAM brand in the region
Leverage and effectively GSAMs worldwide resources to achieve the firms business objectives
Engage with other parts of GSAM globally to leverage the organization and ensure the import and export of best practices
Provide interface with global investment / product teams
A highly successful sales professional with a proven ability to sell traditional and alternative investment products to Japanese public and corporate pension funds
He/She must be an outstanding client facing professional with strong track record of deal closing (minimum 2 years experience)
Existing, commercial relationships among Japanese institutional investors with a proven track record of raising assets from this client base
Experience leading and energizing sales and marketing efforts in Japan.
A thorough and technical understanding of traditional and alternative investment products, including the process by which Japanese investors evaluate and allocate capital to these investment vehicles.
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Japanese is required
Strong business leader and compelling marketing professional with a proven track record in sales
