    The Securities Division Legal team in Asia supports the Securities Division across both Fixed Income, Credit and Commodities as well as the Equities businesses providing legal advice for the broad range of trading businesses we operate across Asia.



    The Legal Analyst position presents an opportunity for a talented and motivated junior lawyer to combine their interests in corporate finance, capital markets and the law. This will form part of the firm’s program analyst structure which will provide a structured program over a 2 year period. In the context of today’s changing regulatory and financial environment, this position is an excellent starting point for candidates considering a career in law or business – and a platform for future opportunities.


    Our team collaborates closely with professionals throughout the firm, including the Securities Division, the Executive Office, the Investment Banking Division, Tax and Controllers, in all of our hub offices around the globe, as well as outside counsel and other external service providers. As an analyst based in Sydney, supporting Securities Division Legal your responsibilities may include, among others:

    • Working with Goldman Sachs trading desks to prepare trading documentation;
    • Supporting senior lawyers in the coverage of the key business lines in Australia and New Zealand; and
    • Assisting in overseeing the work performed by outside law firms.


    Basic Qualifications

    • Qualified lawyer up to 2 years post admission qualification;
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
    • Keen interest in legal frameworks and financial markets;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to articulate ideas clearly;
    • Highly motivated and adaptable; the ability to work on a team of diverse individuals;
    • Proactive; the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment; and
    • Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity.
