    Your Impact:


    Equities Data Engineers are responsible for building big data solutions to store and analyze data for the Equities trading business. We work closely with other front office teams to define and develop the overall data strategy for the Equities Division.

    As part of our team you will be involved in working on green field projects to derive business intelligence from our trading data warehouses, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing business intelligence systems/applications. This involves working closely with the Equities trading, coverage and engineering teams to develop automated solutions for common business analytics, as well as performing ad-hoc analysis to answer key business questions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    Example responsibilities include:

    • Analysis of trading costs across APAC execution venues and impact of trading patterns
    • Building intelligent analytic tool to perform advanced level trading costs analysis
    • Identifying opportunities in optimizing clients trading profitability by trading costs reduction
    • Analysis of trading volumes and market share trends across desks and clients
    • Generation of trading flow metrics and business intelligence reporting
    • Automation and integration of solutions with other firm systems

    Basic Qualifications

    • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Development experience with Java and/or SecDB, and with a solid OO background
    • SQL and Database skills (e.g. Sybase, DB2, MongoDB)
    • Experience in software development, including a clear understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design and core programming concepts 
    • Highly motivated, committed, proactive, capable of working to timelines, high degree of attention to detail
    • Strong team player and strong communicator

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
    • Development experience with Data Analytics, Visualization and REST Services
    • Prior experience working with front office trading systems and data warehouses
    • Interest in Equities trading and financial markets
