Start here.Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Engineering plays a key role in the firm’s ability to provide liquidity and execution services for institutional clients around the world, two important revenue drivers for the firm. In FICC Engineering we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.


    Who We Look For

    The FICC Systematic Market Making (SMM) business consolidates and expands the firm’s electronic market making and algorithmic trade execution. SMM Core Engineering team partners with SMM Trading & Engineering teams to develop high performance electronic trading platforms. The role will be primarily focused on designing and implementing an efficient and consistent self-service development and runtime environments across multiple teams.
    Candidates must have the technical proficiency required to work with heterogeneous codebases, complex build environments and large scale distributed systems. A willingness to explore, learn and apply multiple frameworks and languages will be necessary to succeed in the role.


    Job Summary

    • Develop/adopt cutting edge tools, frameworks and best practices to improve developer efficiency, codebase health, build infrastructure, release management and deployment infrastructure.
    • Drive modernization of SDLC to use best of breed technologies with minimal disruption to the business.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks in continuous integration and deployment process.
    • Design and implement solutions to facilitate faster delivery of new services while keeping operational risk in check.
    • Utilize automation, tools and solid engineering principles to simplify existing systems, infrastructure and eliminate operational work. 

     Basic Qualifications

    • STEM degree with 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
    • Proficiency in several of the following: C++, Java, Perl, Groovy, Python, Go, or shell scripting.
    • Experience with Linux operating system internals and/or networking concepts Basic understanding of latest tools and technologies in source control, build infrastructure and continuous integration.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Java and/or C++, Bazel
    • Hands-on experience with automation, debugging and optimizing code
    • Strong interpersonal skills, drive, and ownership
    • Solving novel problems from first principles
