Our Equity Derivatives (EQD) Settlements, Confirmations and Affirmations Group is seeking a professional who is looking to collaborate with clients, sales, traders, legal and structurers to manage the firm's derivative product risk through execution of ISDA documentation of derivative transactions and the firm’s settlement cash flows.

In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

    Within the Securities Division, the Operations sub-division is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Securities Division Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Securities Division Operations that develops the processes and controls that makes business flow.


    This Group comprises two teams who work closely together and with local and cross-regional business partners in Securities Division and Core Operations. A strong focus is on commercial facilitation and process improvement, including partnering with the local Change Management and Intelligent Automation teams to design and deliver innovation which streamlines processes and reduces risk. There are extensive opportunities for cross-training and personal development within these functions and in collaboration with business partners.

    The EQD Confirmation Execution team has a primary responsibility of managing our counterparty and market risk by verifying affirmation of core economic details correspond to the firm’s risk capture and executing Electronic and ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc.) confirmations. The team handles derivative transactions with broker dealers, corporate clients and institutional clients (Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Mutual Funds, and Reinsurance Groups). The Confirmations Execution Group has a high level of client interaction and involvement with other internal Securities Division teams including sales, trading, middle office, contract drafting and the client coverage group. You will be required to be enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible, client service orientated and focused on control, accuracy and maximizing efficiency.

    The EQD Settlements team supports cash flow processing, fail to pay investigations, client interactions and payment controls for the global equity derivatives market. The team operates in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that cash flow exposures are appropriately risk managed and handled in a timely manner. The team interacts closely with other areas of the firm including equities Salespeople, traders, middle office teams, client relationship management, and credit risk managers. In addition, the team frequently interacts with Goldman Sachs’ clients to facilitate the controlled settlement and reconciliation of upcoming cash flows.

    The candidate is required to have a good technical understanding of equity derivatives products and market conventions. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with either the over-the-counter contract documentation or settlements functions. The candidate should possess a strong control mindset and should be accountable for front to back risk mitigation outcomes, beyond the scope of their department’s processes if required. The role is suited for a good problem solver whose experience will enable the individual to quickly learn how to resolve the most complex issues within their team. The role calls for the individual to be a key subject matter expert and a go-to person within their stakeholder community.

    • Act as a Client Relationship Manager, partner with the Sales and Trading desks to offer best in class client service

    • Take responsibility for maintaining timeliness in accordance with market standards and regulatory requirements




    • 2+ years of Equity Derivatives or Derivatives Settlements or Confirmations experience is desirable
    • Preferably with experience in a derivatives line role, especially in the confirmations process, legal documentation or settlements
    • Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability, and a control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail. Skilled at gathering and analyzing quantitative data to guide decision-making
    • Flexible and ability to work in a high-pressure and time sensitive environment. Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a trading environment
    • Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal stakeholders and clients with differing levels of derivatives, settlements and equities experience
    • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
    • Strong grasp of industry and market trends that have potential to impact the business
    • Able to convey complex situation and process flows in simplistic language and presentation materials; focused on proposing solutions
    • Personal impact and experience to negotiate effectively with other internal groups, including sales/trading/structuring teams
    • Ability to establish trust and connection with others; is able to relate to and motivate a diverse set of individuals
    • Control mindset: Takes actions to ensure that controls are in place, procedures are followed and controls progressively improved
    • Ability to manage line related projects for efficiency/control improvements

    • Proficiency in European languages such as French, German, Italian and Spanish is desirable
