    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    MULTI-STRATEGY INVESTING OVERVIEW

     

    The Multi-Strategy Investing Group (MSI), part of the Merchant Banking Division (“MBD”), is a lending and investing business of Goldman Sachs. The group specializes in fundamental value investing and operates in the public and private markets across a wide array of industries and asset classes.

     

    The MSI team invests across the capital structure in traded instruments (e.g. bank debt, bonds, or equity) as well as opportunistic private transactions. The team’s mandate is highly flexible spaning all industries across the EMEA and APAC regions based out of London. The investment focus will adapt to the best opportunities presented by the constantly evolving economic and credit cycles  

    Analysts and Associates in MSI will gain a strong understanding of financial markets, build expertise in valuing financial assets of all types and understand the investment process across various investment strategies.

     

    Basic Skills and Qualifications:

     

    • Investment Banking, Research or Investing experience within the Financial Services, Asset-Based Finance or Structured Products sectors (2-4 years of experience)
    • Superior financial modeling and Excel skills
    • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented candidates with strong accounting, finance, modeling, and problem solving skills
    • Strong combination of organizational and interpersonal/communication skills
    • Keen interest in the financial markets / corporate valuation and good commercial instincts
