    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

    ABOUT OUR ROLE IN MERCHANT BANKING

     

    Merchant Banking invests in corporate equity and debt, real estate equity and debt, growth equity and infrastructure worldwide. Consisting of over 900 professionals in 25 offices in 15 countries, our business operates on a global platform and we are one of the largest managers of private capital globally.

     

    ​The Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division (“MBD”) invests both the firm's own capital and capital raised from outside investors in corporate equity and debt, real estate equity and debt, growth equity and infrastructure assets world-wide. Our business operates on a global platform and we are one of the largest managers of private capital globally. The work is deal-focused and exciting, and will bring you in contact with a wide range of businesses, industries, investment structures and products. ​

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Researching and evaluating potential real estate investment opportunities, both qualitatively and quantitatively
    • Day-to-day point person on various acquisition and asset management transactions, with specific focus on financial modelling, auditing, due diligence and reporting
    • Contributing to the preparation of discussion materials for MBD Real Estate Investment Committee
    • Involvement in the documentation, structuring and financing aspects of transactions (including debt restructurings)

       

      Qualifications and Skills
    • Ideal candidate will possess a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and have an excellent academic and professional record
    • 2 years+ work experience in corporate finance/M&A
    • Excellent excel, negotiation and communication skills, in addition to being able to coordinate due diligence processes and execution of transactions
    • The candidate must therefore be financially competent, with excellent attention to detail, a clear ability to multi-task, and an ability to work to goals/deadlines
    • Solid work ethic and motivation level
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Fluency in English – other European languages will be an advantage ​
