Divisional Overview:

The professionals in our Securities Division help institutional clients, including fund managers, financial service providers and large corporations, buy and sell financial instruments on exchanges/over the counter around the world. From developing trading strategies, structured products to the final clearing and execution of transactions, our professionals provide insights and strategies that help clients achieve their goals.


Job Summary and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Asia Pacific Shares Trading team. The business is focused on providing liquidity to hedge funds, mutual funds and other large investors in Asia Pacific equities, matching buyers and sellers, committing the Firm’s capital to facilitate large block trades, and manage our book of positions. As a Desk Analyst, the role involves working closely with the Asia Pacific Shares trading desk to support day-to-day trading activities. Along with a passion for programming and financial markets, the applicant must have excellent quantitative skills and attention to detail. Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain quantitative pricing models and risk management platforms
  • Implement workflow automation infrastructure
  • Research and backtest trade opportunities and inform on trading decisions
  • Develop platform to distribute analytics and sales content

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong fundamental valuation skills
  • Strong accounting skills and excellent balance-sheet analysis skills
  • Strong modeling, analytic, and quantitative skills
  • Strong commercial focus and ability to work well with traders
  • Ability to network within and outside GS to draw upon many resources with the goal of generating well researched, commercially focused profitable trading ideas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Credit analysis ability
  • Special situations (merger, tender offer, LBO, etc.) analysis experience
  • A background in research, investment banking, or accounting will be highly desired
