The Consumer and Investment Management Division includes Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), Private Wealth Management (PWM) and our Consumer business (Marcus by Goldman Sachs). Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond


Job Summary & Responsibilities 




We are looking for a Branch Manager for our Luxembourg Office to join our Private Wealth Management ("PWM) Team. The Luxembourg Office is being established as a branch of our European PWM entity Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, Frankfurt ("GSBE") and will provide execution, custody, deposit taking and lending to our European client base.  We also wish to offer investment advice and portfolio management services from the branch and are therefore looking for someone who can define and implement our commercial strategy in Luxembourg.  You will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where leadership, supervision and client service are essential to maintaining and enhancing our business.




PWM secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client's particular risk tolerance and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM develops customised investment strategies and offers an array of wealth management products and services.



  • Oversee, supervise and be accountable to the Luxembourg regulator for all activity undertaken by GSBE Luxembourg branch i.e. execution, custody, deposit taking, lending and ultimately investment advice and portfolio management
  • Actively manage our execution and custodian platform which will be utilised by all European clients of PWM
  • Provide oversight and supervision of the risk management framework established for the branch
  • Develop and implement a commercial strategy for the branch including the hiring of at least one Private Wealth Advisor to implement wealth management strategies for PWM clients
  • Contribute commercially to the branch by you and/or your team actively covering clients in a PWA capacity
  • Participating in our deposit and lending activity
  • Represent the GSBE Luxembourg branch internally to GSBE Head Office colleagues based in Frankfurt and ensure all appropriate reporting and oversight is in place
  • Coordinate with regional PWM management to ensure the PWM business strategy is implemented within the branch
  • Provide client service and team support
  • Resolve adhoc client queries


  • Greater than 10 years' financial sector industry with knowledge of the Luxembourg jurisdiction
  • Knowledge and understanding of running a banking entity providing execution, custody, deposit taking and lending services to private clients
  • Ideally, prior experience! in a private wealth management sales capacity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues across the Firm
  • Detail-oriented
  • Time management and the ability to prioritise
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an autonomous, yet collaborative environment
  • Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity
  • French and German language skills an advantage
