AMD Fixed Income

The Global Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions team within AMD is a global leader among Fixed Income Managers, with over $1 trillion in assets under supervision. We have a variety of mandates including institutional portfolios, high net worth accounts and mutual funds. We use fundamental and quantitative analyses to generate micro and macro insights, and combine these with thoughtful portfolio construction and rigorous risk management in order to achieve client outcomes.

The Currency team, part of Fixed Income is looking to hire a Junior FX Trader to work with the Trading team and Portfolio Managers (PM)


The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Currency Team, who will:

  • Work closely with Traders and PMs in
    • Execution of GSAM directional alpha FX flow
    • Hedging of fixed income and equity accounts to benchmarks
    • Funding of fixed income and equity transactions via spot FX
    • Setting up and maintenance of new accounts
    • Working with Operations teams to ensure daily issues are resolved in timely fashion
    • Ensuring best execution is achieved for all of our clients
    • Improving systems i.e. work to enhance automation, minimize business risk and improve quality of execution
  • Keeping the team up to date with market movements, all compliance and regulatory developments 

Other required skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (CFA preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of FX / Currency Markets.
  • Experience with developing tools and processes to organize and implement trading strategies.
  • Knowledge and or experience of portfolio management/trading not essential, but helpful.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly Numerate; strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • High level of attention to detail (critical), and meticulous
  • Highly motivated problem solver; Intelligent, creative, with good problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work well under pressure with heavy workload
  • A self-starter able to work independently and thrive in a team environment
